What the Results Mean
Download speed is shown in Mbps (Megabits per second). A speed of 25 Mbps or higher is generally considered "good" for most households — enough for HD streaming, video calls, and gaming. 100+ Mbps means you have an excellent fiber or cable connection. If your result is below 10 Mbps, basic browsing may still work but streaming HD video and large downloads will struggle.
What Affects Speed Test Results
Multiple factors influence your result: Wi-Fi signal strength (test wired if possible), network congestion during peak hours, background downloads or updates running on your device, the CDN server location relative to you, and your ISP's routing. Run the test 2-3 times at different times of day for a reliable average.
Connection Info from Your Browser
Chromium browsers expose the Network Information API which shows your effective connection type (4G, WiFi, etc.), estimated downlink speed, round-trip time (RTT), and whether Data Saver is active. This information helps you understand the underlying network quality beyond just the download speed number.
